This ceramic stoneware harbor seal is pit fired with kintsugi gold leaf seams. It depicts a seal who has survived the horrors of being caught in a fisherman's net. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics. They felt it was possible to give a new lease of life to pottery that becomes even more refined thanks to its “scars”.
