I am lucky enough to visit the Pacific Northwest several times a year to visit family. Walking through the local neighborhood, I always would pass a small carved totem pole in someone's front yard. Not sure who carved it or why, but the rustic and weathered looking pole was always a delight to come upon while journeying on my daily walk. After several years I was disappointed to see it had fallen down due to age and a weaken base. On one of my days walking I came upon the fallen totem pole surrounded by several ravens exploring the broken structure. They were strutting up and down it and seemed to be talking to one another in their boisterous way. Not having my camera with me, I have tried to capture this scene with brush and paint.
