My captivation with owls began many years ago when I learned to work with them on the glove for education programs. My first infatuation was a Barred Owl with liquid, black eyes, full of expression. While sitting on my gloved hand, she would slowly rotate her head and look up at me. With the intense stare only an owl can master, I was held captive in her scrutiny. She would ever-so-slowly blink her eyes at me, then slowly move her gaze away. Powerful emotions would well up within me and I felt her tolerance and acceptance of me into her world.
I am now utterly captivated by the eyes of owls. I hope " The Stare" will pull the viewer in and hold their heart tight, so the vibrant energy and vastness of an owl’s existence can be revealed.
