"Coming Home" is a fitting piece for the hotel lobby where it is installed. A large piece like this required large feathers. The largest of feathers are from the argus pheasant. These secondary wing feathers are used by the male for display. They raise them above their bodies sort of like a male peacock raises his train of feathers.
