"I Love My Owl" was carved partially as a demonstration for an owl-themed art exhibit. The grain in the butternut wood lends itself very well for creating patterns. There are numerous "heart" features all over the carving. During the exhibit, children were invited to "count the hearts" which they did with great enthusiasm. The children's participation added a unique element to the art exhibit experience.
