The circle of life has always fascinated me - "survival of the fittest" - as they say. This particular hawk, did not want to leave his "dinner" as I drove up right beside him with camera in hand. It was a difficult decision to draw the vole being devoured, but at the same time I knew it would be a challenge to depict a scene I had not encountered before in nature.
