The Vinaceous-breasted Amazon (Amazona vinacea) is an endangered species endemic to Brazil's Atlantic Forest. Under the leadership of Vanessa Kanaan, the Instituto Espaço Silvestre is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of these parrots in the Parque Nacional das Araucárias in Santa Catarina. This work was featured in the 2019 World Parrot Trust calendar.
