Human impact on the environment and other living species has been largely detrimental. However, a small percentage of animals have managed to turn its effects to their advantage. The New Zealand Kingfisher is one such example. It finds power poles, bridges and fence posts ideal places from which to survey the water below for prospective meals.
‘A Different Perspective’ not only represents a scene in three-dimensions, with the sweep of the bridge and the comparative relation of objects with each other, but also considers this alternative viewpoint to human impact, depicted by two kingfishers taking advantage of a man-made bridge to rest and look for food.
