Redtail versus cottontail. People forget that part of the beauty of nature is the drama and struggle involved. I specifically painted this to leave the end of the story open. For all we know, the rabbit is 3 feet away from his rabbit hole and clearly just forced the hawk into a high banked turn. But then again, the hawk is definitely closing ….
