On August 21, 2017 for the first time since 1918, a total solar eclipse passed over my studio in Casper, Wyoming. It was spectacular to see the totality and inspired the creation for my bronze sculpture ‘’Eclipse.’’ Using the abstract curved design of the Eclipse I was able to attach the top wing of the eagle allowing the lower wing to be suspended in air. Using the negative space around the eagle’s wings allowed the composition an enhanced feeling of flight and movement.
