My husband was born on Vancouver Island and almost every summer we return to visit and take in the beauty and diversity of the coast. One of my favourites to watch and study is the Bald Eagle. I watched this eagle take its salmon to a high perch in hopes of eating it in solitude. It spent its time warding off crows who were eager to share the meal. I love the protective look I was able to capture here. I can almost hear the eagle shouting, "It is mine!".
