I saw this couple in La Veuve Nature Reserve, on La Digue, one of the granitic Seychelles, and practically the only island where there is a stable population. These critically endangered birds are amazing acrobats and remarkably confident around human beings. Invasive predators, as well as loss of habitat, have brought them to the edge of extinction. Great efforts are being made to recover the species and reintroduce them to other islands.
