Thousands of birds migrated to the Pacific Coast during the brutal summer fires that raged in the British Columbia interior this past summer. Steller's Jays were particularly evident in large numbers at feeding stations in the Gulf Islands off Vancouver. We have been treated to close encounters with these brilliant cocky Jays from dawn to dusk throughout the autumn and onward through our winter here . It has been an unforgettable experience.
