I love to walk the beaches of Florida in the early morning sun when there is less traffic except for fellow walkers, joggers or fishermen. Walking the beach of Cocoa Beach several years ago I came across a turtle carcass slowly floating in and out with the receding tide. Standing on the turtle's shell was a Ring-billed Gull using the slow moving shell as a perch or better viewing point. I tried to capture that scene in oil paint but I changed the unfortunate turtle carcass into a live Loggerhead Turtle.
