The backdrop for this painting came from a trip Cheri and I did through Montana. I found this old Southern Railway freight car on wood blocks and fell in love with the age and weathering it showed. Earlier that day we had found some evidence of barn owls in the old ghost town we had explored and this painting was inspired by the combination of events. The combination and contrast between these two subjects was a joy to paint and I couldn't be any happier with the result.
