While travelling offshore on a fishing boat, I love to see flying fish. They make amazingly long distance flights using surface effect. They are the only fish which can fly into the air, but in spite of their beautiful flight, it’s really a desperate survival move for them. They are running away from predator fish. It must be better than just swimming away but unfortunately there is another threat in the air coming from high in the sky.
