Linda Mackey Lang
Little did I know that twenty years ago, when I travelled to the Arctic for a once in a lifetime expedition to see icebergs in person, that the experience would change my life. Over 16 expeditions to the polar regions, I have experienced first hand the struggle of polar bears search for food, seen glaciers drastically recede and melt and even witnessed the landscape change colours from icy blues and browns to greens in as little as 3 years before my eyes. My Inuit friends and scientists have...

Brenda Matsen
My artwork is an invitation to pause, reflect, and find a deeper connection to the living world. Specializing in pastel and oil, I strive to capture the unique spirit of animals and the fleeting moments that define our experience of nature.
Growing up in rural British Columbia fostered my deep fascination with wildlife and their environments. Every piece I create begins in the field, working from my own reference photographs taken during my travels through Western Canada. Through a realistic...

I feel blessed to be able to use paint to share magical moments of time I have experienced. I strive for my images to inspire the viewer to become part of conservation movements saving these wonderful animals and the beautiful world in which we all coexist. I chose the studio name of Vanishing Visions to showcase the moments of time captured in each image that were gone in the next instant and to remind everyone that if we do not make a change in our development of land and utilization of...

Marc McLeod
My work is rooted in a lifelong connection to wildlife and the outdoors. Growing up in Georgia, I developed a deep respect for the quiet power, tension, and beauty found in the natural world. Working primarily in graphite, I’m drawn to the discipline of building form, depth, and atmosphere through value and precision alone. My subjects—especially deer and other wildlife—are chosen for their presence, structure, and emotional weight. Through realism, I aim not only to capture likeness, but to...

Candy McManiman
Often when I am traveling and birding, you do not have time for sketching but my camera is always with me. This shot captures a jaguar just before the sun set. She was stalking the Cuiaba River near Porto Jofre at the end of Transpantaneira Highway, Brazil. In recent years it has become a place where you might expect to see a Jaguar. Travelling down the Highway which is a dirt road with over 75 rickety bridges is part of the adventure to get to the river. The Pantanal is a marvelouse place also...

Elise Meakin
Born and raised in beautiful Campbell River, on Vancouver Island, BC, I was deeply inspired by the west coast mountains and ocean from a young age. Growing up, I loved drawing as much as I loved exploring the forests, mountains and beaches around Vancouver Island. After studying Fine Arts and Art History at the University of Victoria, I moved to Vancouver to explore artistic opportunities, and found even more inspiration in the Coast Mountains. Since moving to Vancouver, I became actively...

My artwork revolves around the animal form. I find its intricate details and functional structure to be the perfect representation of balanced design. Through my work, I aim to bring attention to endangered species and give a voice to these creatures that are being left behind.

I am interested in the idea of what it means to be a witness in these tumultuous times. The natural world is under attack and is retreating. I want to record and describe what I love before it goes away, so as to remember the beauty that has been lost.

I create wilderness art that invites you to experience the same thoughts and feelings that prompt me to paint. I would like you to wonder what's around the bend in a path or over the next hill. I paint using acrylics on canvas and wood to capture the photorealistic truth of what I see.

Terri Neal
My inspiration comes from our natural world. I love to draw my subjects realistically, exploring each animal anatomically and trying to capture their essence with layers of color and value. This process feels meditative as I immerse myself in each subject and try to find their personality and individuality. I am fascinated by my subject’s behavior and their adaptations to their environment. I use my drawings to share the beauty of our natural world to promote conservation. My current project is...

Calvin Nicholls
The illusion of depth, texture and form is created by the interaction of light and shadow on my low relief paper sculptures. A variety of blades and metal tools allow me to cut, emboss and transform the world's finest papers into the feathers and fur of my favourite wildlife species. The delicate characteristics of paper communicate the vulnerability that so many of those very species endure in our changing world.
I work from my home/studio north of Toronto in Lindsay, Ontario Canada

Kentaro Nishino
At the foot of Mount Hakusan lies an ancient beech forest. Entering the forest during the fresh green season. It's my favorite place I often visit to draw inspiration for my work
Whenever I enter the forest, I always hug the trunk of a giant tree and put my ear to it. The pleasantly cool trunk seems to produce the sound of flowing water. Considering that all the water we drink is connected to this forest, I feel that not only the animals, but we ourselves are sustained by this forest.
