Becoming a certified habitat steward inspired me to transform my small yard into a thriving wildlife habitat. Learning about the decline of Monarch Butterflies motivated me to do more. I planted native host plants, built protective enclosures, and carefully shielded monarch eggs from the many predators common in Florida. Last year I successfully released more than 67 monarchs, and I hope to surpass that number this season. Right now my yard is a bustling with activity and my neighbors have noticed. They want in on the action!
