The Gang Gang would have to be one of my favourite Australian parrots. They often fly over my property, and perch in the acacia trees at the rear of my studio. You can hear them coming as they fly in with their distinct cry that sounds like an old rusty screen door. I painted this guy quite large and up close. I wanted to challenge myself, capturing as much detail possible, focusing on the red head and jester like crest.
