As an artist, I find endless inspiration in the delicate beauty of nature. In Lilly Trotter, I sought to capture the grace and vibrant spirit of the African Jacana, a bird affectionately known as the “lily trotter” for its remarkable ability to walk across floating lily pads. Its striking plumage and impossibly long legs are poised above lush green leaves, revealing the agility that allows it to move effortlessly through its wetland habitat. Warm, rich feather tones contrast with the tranquil blues and greens of the surrounding water, inviting viewers to appreciate the intricate balance of nature and the quiet wonder of the jacana’s world..
