Wall color:
The male Wood Duck is one of North America’s most brilliantly coloured waterfowl, while the female possesses elegant markings that are beautiful in their own subtle way. Slightly smaller and generally shyer than mallards, wood ducks can be surprisingly elusive. I was fortunate to observe this pair in a Toronto park, where they seemed completely at ease despite the nearby crowds. While most visitors walked past without noticing them, I remained captivated by both the birds and the colourful reflections of the surrounding trees shimmering across the water. Those reflections became an essential part of this composition.
