Resident crows gathered along the frozen edge of our pond over several winter days, joined by what seemed to be visiting companions. They moved between ice, shoreline, rock piles and low branches in an animated social exchange -- watchful, vocal and endlessly alert. This painting reflects the intelligence and communal nature of crows, whose winter presence brings life and movement to an otherwise quiet landscape.
