This painting reflects the beauty and fragility of the monarch butterflies that winter in Mexico’s Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve. Hidden within the artwork are 89 monarchs. Drawn to their extraordinary migration and endangered status, I wanted to capture both the strength of their collective presence and the vulnerability of a species that depends on protected habitat for survival. This work celebrates their beauty, resilience, and remarkable journey while reminding us of nature’s delicate balance.
