Wall color:
’Of all our birds, the male cardinal is the one that stops me in winter. When everything turns blue and grey, his red cuts through the cold like a small fire that refuses to go out. I painted him among frost-laced branches and the last dried leaves, the way I see him on the coldest mornings near my home. For me, he is proof of how much life endures right outside our windows , life most of us walk past without noticing. Painting him is my way of asking people to look, and to protect what they see..
