Among North America’s smallest frogs, the Spring Peeper (Pseudacris crucifer) is scarcely larger than a thumbnail, yet its voice is one of the loudest heralds of spring. Although rarely seen, its unmistakable chorus fills wetlands and woodland edges each April, announcing winter’s end. This painting celebrates a species that is more often heard than observed, reminding us of the remarkable wildlife hidden within familiar landscapes.
