“Into the Wind” was inspired by swans flying over my studio last fall. The Canadian flag blowing in the headwinds of geopolitical changes expresses my pride and concern.
Almost hunted to extinction the trumpeter swans have been conserved and reintroduced through the efforts of the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre and Trumpeter Swan Conservation Ontario.
Thankfully they find safe and suitable breeding grounds near my studio in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
