While traveling to South Africa, I had the pleasure of following three cheetahs while they were hunting, playing, and resting. Our guide explained that the three cheetahs were brothers and always together. It’s common for male Cheetahs to form small groups (coalitions) usually siblings such as these brothers. The following day we spotted only two of them and became concerned about the missing brother. We continued to follow the two as they were trying to find their brother. After quite some time they spotted him and they ran to him, they all rolled around on the ground together and played with each other until they tried and started resting in the shade. Cheetahs are truly remarkable animals, one of my favorites.
