Orangutans are intelligent and sensitive souls who share 97% of our DNA. They play a crucial role in balancing the health of the forest ecosystem through seed dispersal. Orangutans are losing their forest homes at a phenomenal rate. The insatiable demand for ultra-processed food is blaring like a raging fire. At the same time, fires are burning to make way for palm oil plantations while orangutans are displaced from their habitat. We need a paradigm shift in how we consume to make any positive change. It isn’t easy, but it can start with one person at a time through being aware and motivated to make a difference.
