This painting was inspired by the awe I experienced observing the California condor, its powerful form illuminated by a glowing backlight and delicate shadows. Capturing that moment in watercolor, I wanted to convey both the condor’s regal presence and the vulnerability of its existence. As one of the world’s most critically endangered birds, the California condor’s story is both sobering and hopeful, thanks to the tireless work of conservationists. Through this piece, I hope to honor the incredible resilience of this species and encourage a deeper respect for wildlife and the ongoing efforts to restore and protect our natural heritage.
