Inspired by a visit to Florida’s J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, this painting captures a group of White Pelicans resting in a quiet lagoon. Along came a spirited Reddish Egret, disrupting their peace with its wild, zigzagging fishing dance through the shallows in its signature chaotic hunting style. The scene highlights both the grace of North America’s largest birds, and the vibrant life protected within this vital refuge. A celebration of conservation and coexistence, the painting reflects how wildlife can thrive when given space—making places like Ding Darling essential for future generations.
