Polar Bears are one of the largest and most powerful carnivores in the world. Their white fur easily camouflages them against the ice and snow. Actually, the polar bear's coat is a brilliant creamy colour. Polar bears spend most of their lives on sea ice which they use as a platform for hunting. I painted this bear keeping in mind that this bear was most likely looking for its next meal. I loved the movement that his body created in the water.
