In this painting I have chosen to show the young Great Blue Heron. This bird has found a secluded spot for a little solitary so he can rest. These birds are relatively shy choosing their own company rather than being part of a flock for most of the year, however you might see them in small gatherings in the fall and winter. Even though I've seen these birds regularly on my outings, I've taken a new interest in them and the disappearing wetlands. With my paintings, my hope is to spark a new awareness for the Conservation of our environment and its wild inhabitants.
