Wall color:
Many years ago, farmers in the area where I grew up, that lived on the outskirts of towns, would use a small window on the side of their barns for city dwellers to pull up to. They would then order fresh chickens and eggs for eating. This was long before the convenience of refrigeration came into use. The farmer would take their order and pluck and clean the bird for the buyer. Being a wildlife artist, I got to know many wildlife rehabbers and falconers who alerted me to a deserted brick barn where they had seen a barn owl flying out of one of its broken windows. From a distance, I happened to observe this and was inspired to create this painting.
