"Splashdown" focuses on the beauty and dynamics of majestic wild birds, inspired by some memorable winter encounters with Trumpeter Swans at Wood Lake in the Okanagan Valley. In creating this artwork, I opted for simplicity, with swans as the focal point against a minimalist background transitioning from blue to white, placing the dominant swan within the whiter section of the canvas, to provide a natural spotlight in a story of the interaction and arrival. The return of Trumpeter Swans from near extinction highlights nature's resilience, and symbolizes hope for environmental recovery.
