The Brown Pelican always amazes me with its unique "throat pouch" and their ability to dive bomb for their next meal! Watching the Pelican glide low over the water in time with the waves, is really something everyone should observe. The Brown pelican nearly disappeared from North America in the 60's and 70's due to pesticides damaging the shells of their eggs, but now with regulations they have flourished.
