This is a scene from Breakneck Creek which drains into Seneca Lake. I hiked and painted the area in my youth but have recently returned to live in the area and care for the family lake house. I have always loved the Glens, and the way light behaves on the water and stones. The granite stone is a glacial exotic surrounded by local Devonian shale.
