April’s Full Moon in Native American heritage is known as the Moon When Geese Return. Watching the geese flying overhead returning to their nesting grounds is a reminder that we too must follow the call of nature and grow in the direction of our own light. In winter we huddle together to stay warm and safe and in spring it is the time to spread our wings and go forward. I used a gray blue patina on the mountains which made the sculpture have more depth. The mountains and moon are sculpted as an abstract relief and the geese are created in three-dimensional realism.
