Wall color:
A pair of Palm Cockatoos, (Probosciger aterrimus), is busy with courting in Papua New Guinea. They bear the strongest beak of all parrots, possibly with the exception of the big blue Hyacinth Macaw. I admire the strong contrast of the carmine of the facial skin and the dark, black plumage, here golden brown brightened in the sunlight. Because of their slow breeding rate and small distinct populations, they are classified as "Endangered" in the Red List categories.
