This painting was inspired on a beautiful warm summer day at our cabin. I was in the process of photographing our local seals, I had my camera set up in between two flowerpots, when suddenly this hummingbird showed up, hovering from flower to flower, only a couple of inches away from the end of my lens. It quickly flew to a nearby butterfly bush, where I was able to reset my camera and take a couple of photos of her. I remember saying: "I am going to paint you."
