Like pools of jade are the intense and beautiful eyes of the leopard. I wanted the viewer to feel an intensity in the leopard's gaze as it came out of the foliage which had sheltered it from the heat of the day. Leopards are listed as "Vulnerable", mostly due to habitat fragmentation and loss. It is estimated that their range has been reduced by 30% in the last twenty years. Other challenges include them being hunted for their fur, or as retribution to attempt to prevent livestock killings by locals.
