'Fight or Flight' stages the conflict between man and nature and headlines the strip-mining operations of coal. The natural forms of the 3 swans in flight contrasts to the triangular geometry of the power shovel. Note the bird's eye and machinery pivot are centered and that the mechanization depiction of the sky is symbolic of industrialization. The underlying theme here is that nature doesn’t really have a choice… man does.
