I had the privilege of gorilla trekking in Rwanda and Uganda a few years back. Painting this portrait took me back and gave me the sense of awe and wonder that I experienced being in the presence of this sweet little family. My hope is that my portrait will inspire others to learn more about these gentle giants and join me in helping to protect them. Our planet would not be the same without them. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this portrait will be donated to Dian Fossey's Gorilla Foundation, working to protect Mountain Gorillas and Eastern Lowland Gorillas.
