'Open Territory' was inspired by a month-long rafting trip down the Colorado River. As we approached the Less Ferry launch spot, no river was to be seen, but the vastness of that open territory was breathtaking. Each of the earth's cracks held secrets to be explored, full of creatures and plants that have adapted for existence in this harsh environment. This hawk's impending flight from a rotting post, transcends the rusty barbed wire representing man's desire to control nature.
