Wall color:
California Golden trout are among the most beautiful of North America's native salmonid species, indigenous to just a few streams in the Sierras. Like many native species, they are often outcompeted or even preyed upon by other salmonids, such as Brook, Brown, and Rainbow trout, which have been introduced into their home watersheds. Human activity is responsible for the challenges these brilliantly colored creatures face, and now it seems only human intervention can assure their survival.
