The Atlantic Puffin is another species that is feeling the effects of our warming climate. Their population is now estimated at 12 million birds. A population decline has been recorded and is believed to be from changes to food supplies and the warming of the ocean. Half of the Atlantic puffins breed in Iceland and notable breeding failures have been recorded for more than a decade.
