'Rhythm of the Falling Rain' was created after painting an earlier painting of a Ruby-throated Hummingbird that landed on a bird of paradise plant’s flower. Watching from a dry covered area, I saw the gentle rain falling on the flower and was amazed how the raindrops were landing. Some attached to the spot they landed on, and others trickled down the slopped areas of the flower. I knew hummingbirds enjoyed the rain to help get the dust and pollen off their feathers, so I decided to paint this scene with a hummingbird in the mix.
