Ears swiveled in my direction, eyes straining to sort out what side of the threat line I belonged to, this black rhino threw some formidable shade my way. I have had the privilege of close contact with these bombastic herbivores, both in the States and Africa. Kifaru means Rhino in Swahili, and using an African rather than a Greek name just makes more sense.
