This painting is a philosophical reaching of what wildlife is to the observer. It’s a subjective experience to be sure, and I’d like the viewer to see the Coyote from the perspective of a spirit-form; and we are the point of attention that constructs the coyote from the available atomic particles by way of our attention to it. It’s our attention or conscious awareness of the animal’s spirit that makes the animal real. In other words, I feel it is the spirit of the animal that we have encountered in the wild and through consciousness we construct a simulacrum of the creature so we can have the experience of it.
