The Adote Ninho de Papagaio Project in Brasil is an energized conservation effort to provide artificial nest boxes for 4 species of Amazon parrots in grave danger of extirpation. The image was produced to illustrate the vivacity and joy these beautiful birds bring to our planet, and to promote awareness and raise funds for the Papagaios do Brasil, 4 organizations who joined forces to save them: Programa Papagaio de Peito-roxo, Projeto Conervaçao de Papagaio Cara-rosa, Projeto Charão , and Projeto de Papagaio Verdadeiro. The digital format was chosen to facilitate access to the images by the global community without adding to shipping and other carbon outlays and to make the work inexpensive and available to economically depressed and remote areas.
