I have had many great blue herons clean out my koi pond. I have a "love-hate" relationship with this bird. In East Tennessee, I often see them as they fly from one hunting ground to the next, searching out their next meal, perhaps another koi pond will be their next stop. I was inspired by Geoffrey Sheun, Vancouver wildlife photographer’s photo, which he generously let me use. I came to know his work through my Vancouver First Nation’s student, Joanne. I enjoyed every brush stroke of this painting - making me lean a bit more to the love side, of my "love-hate" relationship with this species.
